European Commission report reveals persistent shortage of labor and skills in the EU

​The Commission's report on Employment and Social Developments in Europe (ESDE) 2023 reveals that employment rates reached a record level of 74.6%, with 213.7 million people in employment in 2022, and unemployment rates were at an all-time low of 6.2%. However, the report emphasizes existing labor shortages and skills gaps and points to EU strategies to address them.

Education Statistics 2021/2022

DGEEC - General Directorate for Education and Science Statistics has provided statistical information on the education and training system for the 2021/2022 school year – students, teaching and non-teaching staff, schools and higher education. We highlight the dual certification route, which includes professional courses and youth education and training courses, supported by the POCH, in this case already through the PT 2030 Anticipation Extraordinary Mechanism.

​On the 7th of July, the IX National and I International Seminar of APEFA "Citizenship and Multiculturalism" took place in Aveiro, with the participation of a diverse set of speakers and with the participation of various stakeholders in the field of education and adult training. PESSOAS 2030 was represented by the Member of the Board of Directors, Joaquim Bernardo.

ESPRODOURO Gala and Enogastronomic Festival

​The Gala and Enogastronomic Festival, organized by ESPRODOURO - Escola Profissional do Alto Douro, took place on the 30th of June at the Wine Museum and celebrated the 25th anniversary of the professional school. As every year, the school honored prominent figures who contributed to the social and economic development of the region, as well as to strengthening links between the school and companies. Former President of PO CH and member of PESSOAS 2030, Joaquim Bernardo, as well as Technical Secretary Maria João Costa and coordinator Frederico Amoreira were some of the winners.

Published the 3rd. Edition of the State of the Nation 2023

​State of the Nation, Education, Employment and Skills in Portugal, a study by the José Neves Foundation, reveals the main conclusions on the evolution of wages, the labor market, the digitization process in employment and education. The study concluded that, in general, the progress of the different indicators has been very positive, but a more sustained and significant improvement is needed, mainly in the indicators of employment and the alignment between education and employment.

Clarification session on competition to support learning in TEIP schools

​PESSOAS 2030 promoted, in conjunction with the Directorate-General for Education and the Algarve Regional Programme, on the 19th of June, a clarification session on the call for tenders to support TEIP schools (Educational Territories of Priority Intervention ). Participating in this session for PESSOAS 2030 was the member of its Board of Directors, Joaquim Bernardo, and the Technical Secretary responsible for the project management unit that will monitor this typology, Luísa Machado.
